The Old Bakery, Danbury, Essex

The Old Bakery, Danbury, Essex

The site is located to the south east of the village of Danbury to the east of Chelmsford. The property is set in large landscaped garden. There are SSSI sites to the front and rear of the property and it is located in a Special Landscaped Area. The Conservation Area boundary is located to the north west of the site, but the property is not set within it. The Old Bakery is a two storey detached property constructed of facing brickwork and rendered walls all under a traditional plain clay tiled steeply pitched roof. A side extension has been built to the south west. To the rear is a small conservatory and a collection of out buildings to the east.

The proposed alterations include a selection of single and two storey side and rear extensions and internal alterations to improve the layout of the house. The result is a modernised house that is now filled with natural daylight. A new full height entrance hall provides internal views of the adjacent kitchen/breakfast area, garden room and the rear landscaped garden.  The first-floor layout was altered to provide five double bedrooms, two en-suite bathrooms and a family bathroom. Planning permission was also granted for a two-bay cart shed adjacent to the property.
