Barn conversion to self contained Annexe – Essex

This curtilage listed barn was in a poor state of repair when our clients moved into the main Grade II listed farmhouse. The timber framed barn was protected by a plastic sheet tarpaulin. The timber frame was however in a reasonable state of repair. A new timber floor was formed to provide additional first floor accommodation. The renovation works included a new floor slab, rebuilt brick plinth and replacement timber feather edged boarding. The roof was finished in plain clay tiles.

Internally the accommodation comprises, entrance hall, staircase, study, kitchen/breakfast area and full height sitting room on the ground floor. On the first floor is a landing leading to a single double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Additional works were carried out to the main farm house. Details can be seen here on our web site.
