Although not Listed, this property is located within Cambridge’s Conservation Area. Due to the client’s personal requirements, it was necessary to provide a ground floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a new first floor bedroom for a permanent carer. The existing garage was converted into a new ground floor bedroom and a single-storey extension provided an en-suite bathroom. Due to the layout of the existing property, it was not possible to access the proposed first floor bedroom from the existing dwelling and so a new second staircase was built in an octagonal brick tower. A new replacement brick garage with wheelchair access was constructed at the bottom of the garden.
