High Street, Hinxton

A flat-roofed detached garden room had been constructed in the rear garden of this Grade II* listed timber frame 1600s detached house in the 1960s. Planning permission and Listed Building consent were granted in 2002 for the replacement of the unattractive and impractical 1960s addition, and for the construction of a new garden room, a small lead-roofed link to the main house housing, a utility room and back hall. The timber framed garden room was constructed with oak framing and has recessed French doors opening onto the landscaped rear garden.
