Maple Avenue, Bishop’s Stortford

A large, late 19th century house, located on the site was suffering from subsidence and was beyond economic repair. A planning application was submitted for a replacement dwelling (plot 2) and a smaller second house (plot 1) to make the best use of the site. Despite a recommendation for planning approval the application was refused at the planning committee. A further planning application for the single replacement (plot 2) dwelling was granted consent and the smaller house granted at appeal in December 2012.  Work started on site in May 2013 and was completed towards the end of 2014.

In 2018 planning permission was granted for the alterations to the driveways, retaining walls and landscaping to the front boundary. Work was completed towards the end of 2019. Night photographs are included below of the altered boundary treatment.
