This is the second new house we have been involved with at Bacon End, near Great Dunmow. The house replaced an uninteresting bungalow. The site is surrounded by views of the Essex countryside. Special attention was paid to the use of good quality external and internal materials. A selection of facing brickwork, beaded timber boarding and painted traditional timber windows were used on the externally walls all under a steeply pitched plain clay tile roof. An open oak porch is used to define the front entrance to the property. A detached two bay open cart shed with accommodation on the first floor is located on the front driveway.
The kitchen and utility fittings were designed and fitted by Nick Greenall Furniture Makers. – www.nickgreenall.co.uk The main contractor was GI Hutton (Builders) Ltd of Black Notley, – www.gihutton.co.uk
