We were delighted recently to welcome our second work experience placement for 2026, a Year 10 student from Saffron Walden County High School to Ian Abrams Architects for a week of work experience. During his time with us, he undertook research into the local area, helping to inform a series of design ideas for one of our projects. His observations offered a valuable fresh perspective on the area and prompted thoughtful discussions about local services, shops and community needs.
As part of the week, we also accompanied him on a site visit to Saffron Walden, including an opportunity to view nearby conservation works at Saffron Walden Castle.
Reflecting on his time with the practice, the student shared the following comments:
‘I really enjoyed my work experience at Ian Abrams Architects and learnt some research skills and how to build a model on sketch up as well as how an Architects practice works. The team are very nice and friendly and engaged in interesting architectural projects. I enjoyed working and discussing design projects and I’m very grateful I had the opportunity to work with you’.
